Q&A: Metal Ring or Braid with Epoxy Resin

Updated: Apr 19, 2020

Question:

"Hi, we just bought Black Hole USA Cape Cod Special 8'0" Nano Popping Blanks from Rodhouse.fr and are very happy with the blanks so far.

We have a question about the bottom part of the rod. Would you recommend reinforcing it at the joint? We were thinking of either using a metal ring or braid with epoxy resin but heard that it may actually create a breaking point. We plan to use the rods for GT popping. Many thanks for your advice and keep up the good work!"

Answer:

"I would avoid using a metal ring. I think it is better to use braid with epoxy."
