Q&A: Jigging Rod Recommendation for Snapper, Grouper, AJ in Florida

Updated: Apr 19, 2020

Question:

"I spoke with J&H Tackle about a rod I could pull double duty with. I fish the central East coast of Florida for Snapper, Grouper and AJ’s. I would like to start slow jigging for these species. What would be the best rod for slow jigging and bottom fishing? They suggested your Challenger. What are your thoughts?"

Answer:

"Not Challenger Bank rods. Black Hole Cape Cod Slow Pitch jigging rods. If you like economic version rods, 6'8" Black Hole Charter Special Slow Pitch jigging rods."
